Blood Bowl Match Report: Red Anvils - IK Turska Pojkar
These cards really bring more variation and even some kind of story to the game, making each of them unique. The usual strategies go out the window when there are two balls on the pitch at the same time.
First rush towards the twin balls.
Alas, the damned ball was a hoax! Viking boys are first on the touchdown line - but also first to be disappointed. This magic trickery was too much for the Norse sense of humor. Anvils score at the later part of the second period, after knocking the living daylights out of the opposition.
Anvils cage hold its form till the end, the second period was kind of slow grind to the finish, but win is always a win. Game ends 1-0 for the Chaos Dwarfs even with four players driven off the pitch because of fouling. But I kept rolling doubles with leveling too: Hobgoblin number 10 has now Dodge skill - rare feat with this lot.

Minotaur - Painting
Still missing some details and highlights. Just few inks on the shadows.
Grey and red being the dominant team colors, with some purple bits. And yes, the loincloth is made out of Chaos Dwarf beard dreadlocks.
How does the skin color of orc change after he has been left out to dry for quite some time? Not much, but added some blue ink to the shadows.
Some watered down primer to start with, don't want to lose those details.

Minotaur - Sculpting
After White Milliput was fully set, I made some fur textures and armor details with Green stuff.
Allowed the brown Milliput to dry, then continued with Superfine White. Also pinned some extra plastic spikes to the shoulder pad and the anvil. Used the same arrow form in headgear armor that used in making of Bull Centaurs.
Started the sculpt with some Milliput Terracotta. Secured the wire to base with the same stuff.
One of the early ideas was making the helmet look like team symbol Red Anvil. Here the basic anvil form is seen next to the orc: piece of insulation foam glued to the top of the head.
Pinned the orc head with wire - later adding there some vertebrae still hanging from the neck.

Minotaur build - Wireframe
Minotaur build - Start
Started to look for inspiration in my old Blood Bowl boxes, and found these cardboard stands from way back when this hobby of mine was still in it's infancy. As kid we only had few BB-miniatures so these had to do for the main part of the team roster.
There was this bulls head in my bit box after making the centaur. So, starting ingredients were this head, some wire and a slotta base.

Chaos Dwarfs Vs. Orcs Match Report
Heated battle between Red Anvils (Chaos Dwarfs) and Terveet Kädet (Orcs) started with unusual Weather roll:
This meant that both teams had to manage the game with less than 11 players on the pitch from time to time.
Rubber band trousers do not count as Secret Weapon do they? The ball landing on the middle line doesn't allow cage forming so huge pile up of players starts. First half was without touchdowns -but Anvils Minotaur killed Lineman Orc right after the first kick-off. Later the same Minotaur made one of the Goblins bleed too, making him the hardest hitter under the blistering sun.
Strange things keep happening: the attack is lead by solitary Dwarf Blocker - and not for very long I can tell you. Guess this wasn't the real offence but a way to postpone the Orcs forward momentum. Tunnel dwelling dwarfs really felt the suns evil rays: defense lines were full of holes. Orcs made the first goal in 6th turn of the second period, leaving Anvils only two turns to return the fire.
Whooaaaa! Making it even in the last round, hobgoblins seem to keep up their sunny side. Dwarf Blocker with Guard skill actually made this break thru of Orc lines possible. MVP went to the Minotaur - making it the first player to reach Veteran status in experience. Turned down the AG increase in favor of Guard skill - this Big Guy is definitely a keeper.
